Applications | Counteract Balancing Beads

That says 5 oz, but 6 is probably close enough, I bought a $10 kitchen scale to use for weighing them.

Only weak spot on the HF that I've found is the 2 plate link on the bead breaker, I added a couple plates to make it into more of a shackle.

I've never actually seen the hf tool, but it has to work easier than crow bars. Wood splitting wedge and a sledge hammer worked for bead breaking.

I have the hf tire changer. I did some welding on it to make it stronger. It works real good. I have changed a ton of tires with it ranging from small car tires to 75 lb truck tires. It does them all. Use some lube and its a cake walk.

Good to know. I too would beef it up a bit. You could save some money mounting and balancing yourself. It sounds like this method is superior to spin balancing and lead weight on the rim. I spend a lot of time in the mud and snow and the balance always seems off when you get on the highway. The stock rims on my late 90s dodge trucks have a nice pocket for dirt to collect. Sounds like the dynamic self balancing will be just what I need.

The bb's are great, and will let you know if you have worn steering components, lol.

My 98 has over 250k miles on it and definatly has some worn stearing components. It's slated for a front end rebuild soon. My 99 is still tight at 150k miles.
