Glad to have another set of eyes :-)
The plans put it at 40" from the ground to the top of the canopy.

This is shaping up to be a sweet project! Are you planning on making it a plug-in?

Plain ole cheap Chineese 10hp like this one:
NEW 10HP Diesel Engine Electric Start Side Shaft 10 HP - eBay (item 180589918743 end time Jan-18-11 13:35:21 PST)

and a turbo like this one:
GT15 GT1544 Motorcycle Quad Turbocharger Bike Turbo - eBay (item 220709987668 end time Jan-06-11 23:05:38 PST)

Ill not use an intercooler but possibly go with a finned manifold pipe to cool the charge some, and like 3 to 4.5 lb of boost.

Ya, but backing it down to 80% of rated power pushes BSFC down (according to the manufacturer) to just under 200.

With the turbo im looking for about 10hp at 80% load and about 190 BSFC (per hp as opposed to kw)

by my math that should allow for 70mph and 2 to 3 hp left over for charging the pack :-)

Todayican,

Will you still be the using the torsion bars from the VW suspension?
I don't think so as the center section has been cut.
How will you prevent the lateral movement of the upper trailing arms?
Will you be using coil overs?

Thanks.
Great project BTW

Using 1 of the 2 torsions, the lower one. weight of the trike comes out just about right.

For the tops, ill be running a threaded bar through the tube and 2 retaining nuts.

I may, depending on how far off we are with the one torsion use light duty coil overs, wont know till we get the body on and see how it sits :-)
