I see the difference now, the strapping looks quite a bit beefier.
Rock on on those gains, that's great!

Question for basjoos

A question for basjoos:

Aluminum flashing covers the extire exhaust except for the underside of the muffler where I bring coroplast to within a inch of the muffler's surface.
I'm guessing that '92 Aerocivic exhaust is similar to my '97: Drops down behind the a/c condenser in front of the engine, and goes straight back from there. Mine has a slight jog towards passenger side approximately even with center of front wheels.

So aluminum flashing under the exhaust would run that whole length - right? Is the coroplast a full width sheet below the aluminum shield, or is the plastic cut with aluminum patched in to replace the plastic there?

Thanks basjoos! !

The 92 Civic exhaust system runs down the center or the car, then jogs over to the right rear wheel well. The coroplast runs from the edge of the car to the edge of the exhaust tunnel, with the aluminum flashing spanning the tunnel. There are 3 pieces of coroplast under the car, right and left front, and then a piece that spans the full width of the car behind the exhaust jog. There are two pieces of aluminum flashing, one that runs from the front of the car to the exhaust curve, the 2nd piece runs from the exhaust curve to right rear wheel well.

And is the center flashing strip anchored to the car itself? Or is it only fastened to the coroplast which is fastened to the car at the outer edges?

(from pm from basjoos)

"The center flashing strip is anchored to the car through the coroplast. I install the coroplast sheets first and then unroll and attach the aluminum flashing on the top of the coroplast, drilling and tapping a new set of mounting holes through the coroplast into the car's frame."

Thanks for the encouragement, BamZipPow.
Pics - yes. Starting on that tomorrow a.m.

I'm started a new thread for the belly pan build.
http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...tml#post225094

This thread has its own purpose - to show as much general info as possible on belly pan methods. Much of that is links to other threads, which is good, imho.

Bump. Because it's an excellent thread that has not been added to in two years and so is probably not familiar to lots of us. Several different designs linked or described here by members.

Thanks! I had seen a few of the individual build threads, but this is an excellent source of information, all in one place!

I think that it is the academic in me that feels that I need to reference everything. Please tell me if I need to stop!

In http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...tml#post374773, I asked

My belly pan doesn't go back as far as where the side skirts start. I think that is a definite posibility.
Also, I pointed out in http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...tml#post373599

Three users is a very small sample size, but I expected a belly pan to be better than an air dam!
One idea that I had, although I imagine that this would be too much work, was to attach the head of a bolt to the underside of my car with JB Weld and then I just need to tighten a nut to attach the undertray, without drilling!

Would a nut be more likely to come loose than a screw?

What about cotter pins?
