You can drive it with bad synchros, you'll just have difficulty shifting into the gear(s) with the problem. It's probably 2nd gear, and if it's totally fubared, you can just go from 1st to 3rd.

Cool.
On my Chevy Spectrum, I would sometimes just use 1st, 3rd, and 5th for the fun of it.
I have been living with a crappy 3-speed automatic for the last 6 years!!
Manual shifting here I come!!

Sure you can drive it with bad syncros. Think of all the trucks that didn't even have syncros from the get go.
If you can wait till I get the Dodge running, I will ship you my old tranny from the Metro.(you pay postage)
No time table on the Dodge though. Workin when I can. Probly gonna work some more on it today, right after i take a nap.
Pulled an al-nighter(2:30p - 3:15a) last night and have no idea why i was awake @ 7:30a.
btw hows the wifes car?

I called the Metro seller today. He said he just came down with the flu bad, so he won't be showing it tonight.
I should be able to look at it sometime this weekend.
DOAX is coming over this Saturday to hang out and see my motorcycle and other odd little eco-projects.
Maybe he can take a look at the Sunfire and help me weld a ball hitch on the pickup truck ( so I have something to attach a junk car hauling trailer too)
Schultz, I am ALL FOR FREE TRANSMISSIONS! Thank you!

I would tow it for you, but, the mileage charge would eat you up.(It would surely eat me alive)
950 miles x 2 x $2.25 = $ 4275.
You just hafta wait till I get the Dodge done and the trans out of the Metro.( i still need something to drive, occasionally)
Then I will see what shipping cost is.

the syncronizers are simply the mini almost gear with a built in clutch that help to match gear speeds when you shift gears, they are why you no longer need to dubble clutch (push clutch in, shift out of gear and in to neutral, let the clutch out, rev match, push clutch in, shif in to next gear), with a little practice you can drive a car just fine that has worn out syncronizers, and because they are not compleatly gone it will be easier then say, driving a Honda N600 that doesn't have them at all.

Go with something a little more classic?
Weighs in at 2600ish lbs. Cd is high at .4. Looks to be in good condition though. I almost bought one of these a few years back as a fun car.

Great idea, Daox! I could overlook the bad aero for a lower speed vehicle, but too bad it's a little porker!
I had a relative with one of these - lots of fun to drive. Man! It's even got the sliding steel moon roof.
I would seriously consider this car if the body & other running gear is good.

Just had a brainwave: With the RWD setup, you would have plenty of room to consider doing a saimese approach with your two motors, like the Zombie.
Get them working in tandem, and I'd bet you've got enough cumulative motor to power this little beastie.
