We only drain it to the bottom of the skimmer. It's a Radiant pool, with 2" thick panels that are insulated and as sturdy as you want. Seawater has 35,000 ppm of salt, pool water is ideally around 3,200 ppm. And water that overflows from raining and snowing is going to be even more diluted.

So far, we've watched Outbreak, Contagion, Snowpiercer, and Deep Impact.
I haven't watched 12 Monkeys in a while, that's a good suggestion. At the beginning of that movie, Bruce Willis' character stumbles into the former Wanamaker store (now Macy's, I think) in Philadelphia; you can see the organ on the upper floors in a few shots. It still gets played daily when the store is open, and has quite a history. Marcel Dupre premiered Widor's arrangement of his 6th Symphony for organ as Op. 42, Symphony for Organ and Orchestra, there--imagine a department store with an organ in it, plus a full orchestra. That will probably never happen again in the history of humanity.

Some good news!
United has extended customer's current frequent flyer status until January 31, 2022. I was going to lose my Platinum status next year because for 2020 United bumped the spending requirement to $12,000 per year (not including taxes and fees). Now I get to enjoy upgrades to first class for another year!
That also means I can finally use those Alaska miles and free partner tickets I didn't use last year because I needed every qualifying dollar I could get.

I'm sure I'll have plenty of trips in the next 21 months. The work doesn't end it is just on hold for a bit.
I'm also plotting a motorcycle trip around the Great Lakes for the fall. I'm going to try to get my father to come along. He is in good heath today but that is far from a guarantee at 75. The window is closing for those types of trips with my dad.

I hope you get to do it. My little brother took our father to the Oshkosh air Show. They've both passed.

Part of the Golden Age will be there's no identity politics. That grift will grind to it's end. I thought Carl's bst line was this one
Quote:
...and then suddenly a
virus comes along and it's like well
you've a like Van Jones says you're not
healthy on your best day and now is not
your best day and I'm not trying to be a
dick about this I really hope that
people who get sick get the help they
need but what I love about it is this
just pulls off for the veneer of
identity politics suddenly it all
becomes revealed that actually it is the
things that you can do that can change
your life outcomes the choices you make
and if you're making bad choices well
you can expect bad outcomes this is a
real slap in the face to these identity politicians

Just got an email from my auto insurance saying they are going to lower my rates 15 to 20% for the months of April and May due to fewer miles being driven by the overall public. Hell, I only average about 3000 miles per year as it is. Last year I went just over 2000.

It looks like the FCC is going to come down on china hard over apparent spying on US citizens, all the people who disappeared trying to sound the alarm over corona virus including doctors and reporters, all the lies and propaganda coming out of china about their virus, IP theft, basically all the crap they have gotten away with for the 2 decades.
If hillery or biden were in charge the Chinese would be given a free pass to do what they want and already have the keys to everything.
I remember not that long ago, when I was at Langley back in 2006 to 2011 it seemed like 6 weeks couldn't go by with out a huge government or military hack in with huge data breaches. Now that doesn't really happen very often.
No need to wonder why.
