Thanks, BA. Yup, it was a lunch stop at a closed campground. All the crap on the table is stove, bowl, etc for lunch + whatever clothes I removed when I stopped. That`s Plumas NF, a few hours north of Lake Tahoe- not as much yellow as New England, eh?

[That`s a nice big tail light though, what model?[/QUOTE]

FWIW that tail light looks like an old vista light model. I still have a couple on my bikes.

A small sampling from my DIY garage....

My daily driver. Technically a 2wd hybrid - pedals drive one wheel, electric motor drives the other - systems are completely independent. Powered by 2 DeWalt li-ion cordless drill batteries). A real hoot in snow.

For dirt duty...

Built this for my 89 YO Father (Custom frame w/mobility scooter transaxle - powered by Milwaukee 28v cordless drill batteries).

Hey, I recognize some of those beauties from "The Epicenter Of Spuds And Cowpies"!
About 3 years ago I built a short wheelbase recumbent (patterned after Rans V-Rex), and you gave me a lot of geometry tips via BFnet

Kenny! You turned his scooter into a cruiser!

I do not think that I actually have a picture of my car, but here is my bike:

Gary Fisher 21.5" Aluminum frame. I should have gone for the larger Trek version, but I was amazed that I could afford a [Trek bike labeled] Gary Fisher!

I need to figure out how to move the seat back. I enjoy my half-mile rides to and from school, but I am still sore from eight miles home on Thursday!

The seat is too far forward!

If you haven't done so already, go to the website of Lennard Zinn and use the fit calculator for mountain bikes. You can determine if the top tube and handle bar extension dimensions are correct for you. If the seat is still too far forward and it is adjusted all the way back, check out the seat posts for a time trial bike with more rear extension. I mounted a pair of bar end handles inboard about 5 inches either side of the stem to give a more aero position and a different grip for the wrist. That and a fairing lets me ride in comfort on my city bike.
