I just have to post pictures of my big dumb bike any chance it get. Although I think it may be slightly out of place on a website dedicated to efficency.
I built it from scratch and it's absolutely insane. It weighs about 120lbs and honestly it's not bad as you would expect for crusing... you just have to avoid hills at all costs. For what it's worth I also have a much less insane Trek that I use when I'm not cruising the beach and frightening the natives.

I might need another recumbent trike in a few months. I had given up when my home was rebuilt. They are almost finished rebuilding. Last week I saw the fairing is still there, so when I move back I want to start over to rebuild that trike in my avatar. That is the main part of the fairing in the photo, and the 2 doors are in that mess somewhere.

Is there a reason the front of the banana is so long?
I must have had a good reason for setting my seat post where I did. I have had previous bikes where there were marks indicating the limit you should raise the seat, but not this one, so hopefully I will be okay.
Crisis averted!

You need a long nose for the pedals.
The Frontwheels are in the hight of my knees.
And a plate as a front is not very aerodynamicly

Crazy! To be honest, I only heard of 29" tires recently.

32? There`s a lunatic fringe now building mountain bikes with 36 inch unicycle rims and tries, but if anybody makes 32 inchers, this is the first I`ve heard of it.
Xist, 29 is just the new name for 700c, (AKA 622, AKA "road" wheels) when used off pavement- not really a whole new size. The rims are nearly as big as 27 inch rims

I read a little about that.
Wikipedia says:
Quote:
“29-inch wheels”, which also conform to the popular 700C (622 mm diameter clincher) wheel standard are becoming more popular for not only cyclocross bikes but also cross-country mountain bikes. Their rim diameter of 622 mm (~24.5 inch) is identical to most road, hybrid, and touring bicycle wheels, but are typically reinforced for greater durability in off-road riding. The average 29-inch mountain bike tire has an outside diameter of about 28.5" (724 mm).

Bicycle wheel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So, that is the outer diameter, kind of...
C is for clincher? That is good enough for me.
So, that is a 29" and a 26". I think they should have been side-by-side, to really compare the two.
