Painted black (with plasti-dip)
In the fall/winter months the sun is often low as I drive. I long ago took out my sun visors as part of a weight reduction project that found large numbers of small things to remove in order to significantly lighten the car.
Here is the plasti-dip solution. I wonder if it will last in the air flow.

Have you looked into a wink mirror? It would act as a good wrap around mirror and also partly as a sunvisor.
I plan on getting one and ditching my side and rear view mirrors. A couple of my friends have them in their civics and they seem to do what I want.
Well... I was going to post an ebay link to a "wink mirror" but this forum says I will need to have 5 post in order to do that
I've been keeping an eye on your threads the past few months. I've rounded up a few things for my car already and plan to do a similar build to what you have going.
Currently I have a rather bone stock 2000 Civic LX sedan 5speed. Things I've bought to swap HX wheels that my dad and I freshly powdercoated and a vx trans. I just got my ultragauge in a few days ago. Hopefully we'll be able to swap some information.

Nice car and plans looking forward to your progress. I have not looking into a wink mirror... probably would have been better than what I have, which works well, but is not mounted remarkably well.

You under estimate the power of plasti-dip. It will definately hold in the wind.

but will it hold upto the windshield wiper?
I've always had vynil on my windshield in that location and it can withstands the tip of the wiper.
I think it was really clever to use plastidip on a glass surface

That's a real question, and I just noticed it tonight. I only have the driver side wiper still, tucked down further into the cowl. But I turned it on once today accidentally and it rode over a small part of the plasti-dip. If it does wear that out, I might be able to blacken the inside of the glass in that small area. Fortunately, it does not rain all that often here.

Vynil will definitely be more durable, but I had plasti-dip leftover and I thought it would apply more easily, more evenly.

Thanks! I'll report back if it scrapes right off!

That plastidip looks good! Is there anything it can't do!? I have to wonder if that is legal though. I know there is a height limit in missouri that tint cannot go below, but would plastidip be considered tint since you can't see through it? You've probably already asked that question but I was curious.
If you do have trouble with peeling, consider tinting it instead. You can buy the walmart tint or the good 3M stuff online and install it yourself to save some money.
