So I was thinking...if I were to pull the swivel point back about 12", I would have to have the extension added on from the current support back to the rear part of the frame, yes? This should give it enough support where it shouldn't affect the frame too much, yes?

So you're thinking about altering the wheelbase? Interesting.

Your moving away from the center of the 'X' so any extension should be substantial, and well gusseted.

moving swivel point

Seems like if you mimic the original support, you'll have a little different buckling load as compared to the original pin location since most of the trailer weight is now ahead of the castor pin.
If you really slam it,the spring will bottom, the bump-stop will carry the load through the castoring pin, lifting the frame, and loading the air shocks.
As the rotation point is moved aft,any maximum vertical displacement at the wheel will be reduced at the air shocks since the moment arm is now longer.
The pin may tend to rotate and deform the angle iron frame in the instant before the trailer lifts.
You don't carry a lot of load in there,so maybe it's already adequate.
You do need to create a 'bumper' to protect the exposed wheel,as it's now 'outside' the protection of the frame perimeter.

Current run with Dark Aero in tow from College Station to Ardmore at 65mph returned 27.43mpg and from Ardmore to Wichita at 65mph returned 28.85mpg.

Based on the EPA highway rating of 19mpg fer my truck, my cost savings from the first tank was $10.56 and the second tank was $10.64 fer a total of $21.20 fer this run up to Wichita.

Running light this time around...no passengers or heavy gear in the bed or in Dark Aero.

Got back from my trip and here are the numbers...

Night drive from Wichita to Ardmore returned 27.1mpg at 65mph and a morning/afternoon drive from Ardmore to College Station returned 24.21mpg at 65mph. There was some stop and go traffic going through Ft Worth.

Based on the EPA highway rating of 19mpg fer my truck, my cost savings from the first tank was $7.03 and the second tank was $9.04 fer a total of $16.07 fer this run back to College Station. Total savings fer this trip was $37.27.

This total round trip distance was 1056 miles, total fuel used was 39.5 gallons which calculates to an overall mileage of 26.73mpg.

By comparison to the trip during the spring...total round trip distance was 1182 miles, total fuel used was 46.9 gallons which calculates to an overall mileage of 25.2mpg.

Fuel cost savings to date is $493.02...not bad.

26.73

*26.73 mpg compared to 19.0 mpg is a 40.68% increase.
*If we guestimate 5.5% delta-mpg per 10% delta-Cd @ 65-mph,we're looking at a 73.97% drag reduction necessary to explain the higher mpg.
*With a 73.97% drag reduction,only 26.03% of the original drag remains,or,Cd 0.1145 is suggested.
*Sure would be interesting to get Dark Shadow into a wind tunnel.Or at least an accurate scale model.
*(hey Texas A&M University,what'd'ya'think?)

Same as the Hilux? I found http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA...U6lpI/$_35.JPG

1/20th scale—$10.00. Bribe graysgarage to put it in his water channel.

There is also Trail Finder 2 Truck Kit w/Mojave Body Set at 1/10th scale, but being an R/C model it is $400.

Actually, the T-100 is wider and longer than the Hilux/Tacoma.
