is this stuff an 'automotive' version/relation to those special, world-reknown, coffee beans that pass through monkeys digestion systems before becoming your morning brew?

And it is a civet cat, not a monkey that the beans pass through. Don't know what FE it gets from the beans.

What Boric Acid does to metal wearing surfaces was a fortuitous find (IIRC) by Argonne National Labs, not some snake oil salesman.
(He prints money with impunity instead nowadays)
I'd post a link if I could... and if I thought it'd win out over ingrained opinions...
NB that Boric Oxide + Water = Boric Acid.
ie: What's sold as 'Boric Acid' isn't.
Its Boric Oxide till you add water.
Your engine will add the water to your oil for you if you have the patience.
That wont happen in a diff or gearbox.

Borpower Shop
I read from some local magazine that it uses nanoparticle technology and all fancy words, but that what caught my attention, was that it says it raises the power up to 10% more and FE up to 15% more, because it reduces the friction greatly.
Because this was mentioned on a good magazine, this caught my attention. Else i would just have ignored it.
So what are your thoughts

Any friction in an automobile will derive from hydrodynamic shearing forces within liquids, which is solely a function of viscosity.
There really isn't any surface friction from parts actually in physical contact. They're all separated and 'ski' on top of a wedge of lubricant separating the surfaces.
Some oils are presently at 'zero' viscosity upon cold start. They add only a fraction of a percent to economy or power.
The claims are extremely dubious.
Buyer beware!

Should that happen the result is galling and friction welding.
