I agree the Brock trailer would be a better performer in reverse.

Pickup guys natter endlessly about towing but when pinned down, they really don't do all that much trailer pulling. 10% opf all vehicle miles would be on the high side.

Car trailers may be the best opportunity for a streamlined trailer. Car guys do travel a lot.

I've been using a design for a trailer to knock the rust off my AUTOCAD skills.

I have two designs I'd like to share. I low-profile "Hi-Lo" toy hauler/travel trailer, and a fixed car hauler/toy hauler/travel trailer.

My problem is I don't think this site can accommodate .dwg files and my camera takes nice pictures but has these huge files.

Can anybody help me?

If you don't already have it, download the latest version of IrfanView.
Download the latest version of IrfanView PlugIns. (required to read .dwg files)
Use IrfanView to convert your .dwg files to .png.

Should work, but I don't have any .dwg files to confirm.

Download Paint.net and use it to resize your pictures to 800x600 or 1280x960, then save the files and upload

I see my copy of PaintShop Pro X also opens .dwg files.
If you email me a .dwg file, I'll compare which gives better results - IrfanView or PSP.
If PSP happens to give significantly better results, I'd be happy to convert a few for you.

PS. I suggested .png format for the conversion because it should give better compression (allowing for higher resolution) than .jpg.

backwards

It's shaped the way it is to fit cars which have a low front. The back has to be big enough to fit whatever fits in the rest of the trailer, because that's where the entrance is.
If it was tapered to the rear, why not just build the whole thing at that height?
Your point is well taken, and given the state-of-the-art for trailer fabrication it's delicious! My "job" is to snipe from the fringe and see if I can rattle the conventional public consciousness.------------------------------------------------ Perhaps before the Sun red-dwarfs,people will load the racecar "backwards" into a teardrop trailer, which closes over the car after it is secured.----------------------------------------------------------- By "killing" the 70% of drag behind the trailer, the racer will make the meet with more money in his or her pocket, more fuel left at the gas station behind them,no super-tankers between the gas station and the Persian Gulf, and clearer air between the bleachers and finish-line.That would be the difference.

I realize I'm dredging up an old post, but I only discovered this trailer today, and came straight here to perform a search.

As it pertains to the rounded tail, I wonder what it would take to make a tail section that lifts like the nose of a C5 Galaxy. Could a clever contraption of torsion springs and hydraulic dampers could do the heavy lifting? Perhaps the dead space inside the cone could be used to store Race Ramps or similar product to load vehicles/cargo. Maybe a cargo net, suspended from inside the cone, could be used to secure small items. I think a mildewed, old Airstream could make a likely prototype candidate.
