Some of those island nations had already been given climate change money by the UN. Of those at least a few of them used the money to build beach side resorts.
If they are crying about sea level rise again either the money has ran out or the payments stopped.

Most of the Marshall Islanders used the funds to escape to Springdale, Arkansas and are now dodging tornados. I missed it by a week.

Which: tornados, Springdale or Marshall Islanders?

It was Springdale that was hit. The majority of Marshallese who fled the island settled in Springdale.
I was there a week ago. They build an awesome outrigger canoe!

Did they do their due diligence?

Quote:
https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Tornado_Alley
Tornado Alley is a loosely defined area of the central United States where tornadoes are most frequent. The term was first used in 1952 as the title of a research project to study severe weather in areas of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.
Speaking of canoes, I learned that the Haida war canoes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Northwest_canoes contested the Fraser River Gold Rush so The British armed them, resulting a 60ft dugout canoe with cannons.

Four canoes of Indians came this morning and [the natives] remained on board until nightfall. FRIDAY, MAY 30. At 5:30, both boats saluted with 11 cannons in honor of King San Fernando of Spain. We also collected eight more casks of water. SATURDAY, MAY 31.

due diligence

No idea. There may have been advisors who 'helped then to death'. Perhaps not an easy thing to vet.
Scientists suggest that no one will escape the phenomena of climate change. Only time will tell.
Thwaites Glacier will be the thing to watch. It will be 'Florida', 1-thousand feet in elevation, falling into the ocean.

Thwaites Glacier vs the Beaufort Gyre?

The Haida cannons are described as swivel guns. Makes one wonder about an alternate timeline where they had another British invention, the Puckle Gun.

I think it's a massive, transparent embryo from outer space that likes to tease Santa!

Virginia 'Beach' inland 90-miles

Also from PBS NOVA: 'POLAR EXTREMES'.
Host, Kirk Johnson, Sant Director, National Museum of Natural Science, was at a commercial gravel quarry, 90-miles inland from Virginia Beach, Virginia, digging up perfectly-preserved clamshells out of the 3,000,000-year-old strata.
3,000,000 years ago, the atmospheric carbon-dioxide level was 400 ppmv, and sea level was 60-feet higher than today. Presently, we're @ 412.5 ppmv.
As the months and years unfold, sea level will return to it's former 60-foot higher level. Nothing 'catastrophic.'
That would be Thwaites Glacier, a near- instantaneous five-foot seal level rise.
Reserve your tickets, popcorn, and soda-pop.
