I was a fan of Thom Hartmann ten years ago, but he sorta went off my radar. I see he is still putting on 3 hours a day. Here is an interview with Michael Mann:
Ten years ago he was viewing the world though a Founding Father/Constitutional lens, but now he's anti-Trump. ?? What happened?
Climate-wise, "what happens in the Arctic as we like to say doesn't stay in the Arctic"
We may, sooner than later, be praying for that Giant Asteroid.

Be aware!
$10-13 dollar gas tax?
Also today, Scott Adams connected Cosmic rays to cloud cover, but asks for proof.

Well 2/3 of voters are unwilling to pay more than $10 per month to help fix climate change and another poll shows only 6% of voters see climate change as being the most important issue to them, then a different poll showed more voters worry more about fake news than climate change.
It's pretty much a dead issue.

“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.”

The one I saw put immigration first. 2/3 of voters are probably unwilling to live closer to work. We'll see how it works out for them.

A gas tax won't stop people from buying gas, they'll just get a bit smarter about it. Countries that have high gas taxes function just as well as countries that don't - actually, much better in general.
Nordic countries have an extremely high tax on alcohol, but it does not stop them drinking, nor did their economy collapse; quite the contrary.
Tax money does not disappear... The government pays its bills with it.
Don't pay tax, then live with the problems eternal debt brings.

I just finished 'SHATTERED CONSENSUS the true state of global warming',edited by Patrick J. Michaels, with Sallie Baliunas,S.B. Idso,K.Ya. Kondratyev,E.S Posmentier, and Willie Soon,2005,by the George C. Marshall Institute.
It's a 'skeptics' view of climate change, brought to us by the same folks who brought us GREEN TYRANNY.
There are 726 gross, scientific research paper references,10-chapters,291-pages.
They spend a good deal of one entire chapter on solar magnetism, cosmic rays, cloud condensation nuclei, cloud cover, and attempting to tease out a causal relationship to climate change. They never succeed, and recommend additional research.
There is some relationship, but the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds any discernible signal trend that might emerge from modeling,as far as climate forcing goes.As serious scientists, they've got to surrender to their own scientific metric, that if it cannot be represented mathematically, and reproduced by others,it won't fly.

When I see the broadcast news, they basically report that kitchen-table issues hardly include climate. It's border security, abortion, jobs,Iran and N.Korea.

In Dr.Wysessions energy lecture, his take on more expensive fuel outside the USA,had to do with other nations attempting to reflect the actual societal cost of fuel at the pump, whereas,in the United States,we'd leave off all the externalities and pay unicorn,voodoo-economics,fairy tale prices, and just kick the can down the road as far as climate goes.
And as retired CIA's Chalmers Johnson's trilogy points out, Al Qaeda and ISIS are merely blow-back,in response to Americans imposing their filth by trespassing on the rest of the world via the atmosphere and other pathways.

Vast rings of electrically charged particles encircle the Earth and other planets. Now, a team of scientists has completed research into waves that travel through this magnetic, electrically charged environment, known as the magnetosphere, deepening understanding of the region and its interaction with our own planet, and opening up new ways to study other planets across the galaxy.
Kim and researchers from Andrews University in Michigan and Kyung Hee University in South Korea focused their research on mode conversion, the way in which some EMIC waves form. During this process, other waves that compress along the direction they travel from outer space collide with Earth’s magnetosphere and trigger the formation of EMIC waves, which then zoom off at a particular angle and polarization — the direction in which all of the light waves are vibrating.
Using PPPL computers, the scientists performed simulations showing that these mode-converted EMIC waves can propagate through the magnetosphere along magnetic field lines at a normal angle that is less than 90 degrees, in relation to the border of the region with space. Knowing such characteristics enables physicists to identify EMIC waves and gather information about the magnetosphere with limited initial information.
Moreover, engineers employ waves similar to EMIC waves to aid the heating of plasma in doughnut-shaped magnetic fusion devices known as tokamaks. So, studying the behavior of the waves in the magnetosphere could deepen insight into the creation of fusion energy, which takes place when plasma particles collide to form heavier particles. Scientists around the world seek to replicate fusion on Earth for a virtually inexhaustible supply of power to generate electricity.
Knowledge of EMIC waves could thus provide wide-ranging benefits. “We are really eager to understand the magnetosphere and how it mediates the effect that space weather has on our planet,” said Kim. “Being able to use EMIC waves as diagnostics would be very helpful.”
