Remember those stupid "the glaciers will be gone by 2020" signs at glacier national park?
6 to 15 years ago we all had to hear _______ will be gone or melted by 2020. Now the believers are walking it back and saying no one ever said that and that the denyers just made it up.
You didn't quote your own source correctly - it is an estimate, and it say around 2020 to 2030.

And they HAVE lost 125 out of 150 glaciers - that is about 83% gone. Hardly an inaccurate estimate.

Fwiw, straight from the horses Glacier National Park's mouth:
https://www.nps.gov/glac/learn/natur...rsoverview.htm
Quote:
Every glacier in the park receded between 1966 and 2015.
In 1966 the park had 35 named glaciers large enough to be considered active. By 2015, only 26 named glaciers remained. The average area reduction was 39 percent, though some lost as much as 85 percent. This trend is expected to continue as temperatures rise. Some small remnant ice may persist late into the 21st century or even beyond, depending on how and when we act.
and https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List...al_Park_(U.S.)
Quote:
Though believed in the early 2000s that most of the glaciers in the park would disappear by the year 2020, more recent studies now give the year 2030 as a more likely date for this disappearance. A study done in 2003 on two glaciers indicated they would be completely gone by the year 2030, though some other glaciers may remain as small isolated ice bodies for a longer duration.

THE SUN: Plasma Climate Forcing — Watched it. Every word is important. Pretty pictures at 8:32. Important charts with music 9:27.

I took a pass through Phys.org. Interesting stuff, but the browser is fighting me, maybe more later.

Of course! With global warming,we have increased precipitation as a consequence of increased evaporation.
In Antarctica,it's killing off the Adele and Chinstrap penguin. They can't breed in all the snow falling on the Peninsula.Their krill supply is being fished out by the stupid humans, who sell krill-oil supplements to the even the more stupid, who believe it to improve their health.
To Redpoint-5's comfort, the Gentoo penguin are flourishing,as they're feeding has adapted to eating fish instead of krill, who'll be dying off with the krill,as the sea-ice algae go extinct along with the ice.
All part of climate fun.

Probably only important to Ben Davidson.

The picture of the glacier national park sign said "gone by 2020". It clearly wasn't an estimate. You can spin and dance all you want. It's hard proof of a failed climate prediction.
Gone by means gone, not 83% less, not 95% gone. The terms "will be gone" leaves no room for interpretation.

How many of those glaciers were krypton isotope dated to be more than 1 ice age old?

The old signs say 2020. Once they realized how much of an embarrassment it was going to be when the glaciers were still around after 2020, then they started putting 2030 on them.

2020 is going to be a very long, very inconvenient year for the climate cult believers.

Looks like anyone after April 21,2014 is free to use the 'new' dating tool with cores. All the cores are there for testing. And all would require the same vigilance as with Carbon-14,Oxygen-18.and Berrylium-10.
We'd need to be careful going back beyond a certain point,as Earth was not as it appears today (the Bering Strait was closed) and would require different models.

Glaciers move, so dating the ice is useless to determine how old the glacier is, just like dating the water isotopes in the mouth of a river does not tell you how old that river is; only, maybe, when that water fell down as rain or snow.

Inconvenient but true.
