I did spend an hour straightening up in the carport, and it's open in a dormant tab.

Fuller, from the 1940s suggested that most of the copper and other non-comsumable materials is now above ground. The Ur-recycler.

I'll see if it gets into Chyna burning Uranium-laced coal.

I discovered that there are chapters, so I skipped ahead to the four Paradigms.

I felt most drawn to the Arcadians, but having listened I would now equate that to Fuller's Design Science Revolution. But Fuller thought we're in a final exam phase, which aligns with the Preppers.

Unfortunately, the next section -- Shrinking theTechnosphere -- reverts to political solutions.

I'll go back for at least the Nordstream environmental disaster.

At 1:10:47, they get into junkyards (retro-custom cars) and electronics recycling. Things I've been into over the years

Recycling and Reusing Technology; Transforming Lives When you bring your unused items and electronics to NextStep Recycling, you are not only minimizing your impact on the environment, you are also providing jobs and skills training to individuals with barriers to employment and providing technology to those who do not have access.
The days of the $75 iMac (like the $1500 Beetle) are gone.

That $75 Imac was 6-7 hours of labor. The new nice ones are about 6-7 hours of labor for a fast food worker depending on options.

$1500 bugs is hard to do because they have become rare which doesn't fit anywhere in the equation. Actually I bought several for $500 typically driveable but needed work.

Not getting that at all. NextStep has shelves of PCs today at some price, but the few Apple machines are at $500.

Strange how bugs disappeared all of a sudden. Used to see half a dozen on any trip, and now I'll go months between sightings. Also used to have lots of bug junk yards, and now I don't know of any.

As early as 2010, when I was last in Mexico City, they were still making new (old) bugs. At least half the cars were bugs. Don't know how things look now, but I bet there's lots of parts availability still.

What I'm saying is that from a work labor impact, the prices haven't gone up much. You used to work most of the day to earn enough, and it is still about the same today but better more capable stuff. Back then $75 is todays $500.

More specifically, 20 years ago groceries were $80 @week for family of 4 including hollow legged always hungry son. Today it's +100, for two and we're eating much more veggies.

I deposit more on SSAN than I ever did driving bus.

Actually neither of us have places of employment.

In 1984, being relatively poor, I went without a car or telephone for two years to be able to afford a $2500 128K Macintosh. It turned my life around.

My next computer shall be a $100 Raspberry Pi 400, the keyboard model, like an Apple ][.
