Just realized you were talking about the photo. Of course it's been produced and not captured.

I've watched enough of the moon landing debunking, and the debunking of the moon landing debunking to have high confidence the landing was real.

Further, I believe the appropriate response to working hard towards a goal that is estimated to have a 50% chance of death, and then be told it never happened, is to sock that person square in the face, and then claim that never happened.

I didn't know that part. It makes the story even better!

I made that part up (the part about saying the punch never happened). It would have made the story better though, which is an example of narrative having influence outside of fact.

When narrative exceeds fact the result is mythic.

There's some relation between humor and myth, as both require a kernel of truth to obtain the desired effect. The right mix of reality and transcendent reality.

Aliens fits in here somewhere.

Hmmm the people who were on the moon and their support people get suprisingly indignant really fast when you say they didn't go there. After all these years one would think they would slip if it wasn't true. The anti landing people have been known to change their opinions........

How do you know the aliens aren't here? How could you quickly tell if they appear to be like us? You shouldn't go up to random people and stick a sampling needle into them, probably get punched in the face (stolen from another thread)

Here's my take on it. July 19, 1969 two space craft came into lunar orbit. Both attempted to land. One crashed one did not. The automated landing guidance systems failed on both spacecraft for the same reasons. We didn't find this out till decades later.
Did the United States and soviet union (always small letters lol) both work together to trick the whole world into believing man went to the moon?
If the whole thing was fake why didn't the soviets just have a successful fake unmanned landing first?
Also we can see something on the moon at the lunar landing sites that appears to be left over man made objects.
