I recently argued that instead of subsidizing a particular type of car and most of that tax money going into the pockets of large, foreign-owned auto manufacturers, perhaps the US should be funding thorium power research.

Create safe, cheap, and plentiful nuclear power, and as a side benefit we can allow Iran all the nuclear power they want. Win, win, win, win.

Instead we'd rather send pipe-bomb money their way and solve no problems. After all, if we solved all the problems, what use would we be?

I'm fully aware of todays solutions being tomorrows problems. That said, kinda ready to be done with my dad's problems and trying to figure out the next problem.

I think I recall they raised the outside wall a couple foot after some flooding a while back. Perhaps after Sandy fiasco.
