According to Anton Petrov, we could burn all the fossil fuels without precipitating a runaway greenhouse; but at 47degrees C, the oceans turn to clouds and the whole place hot boxes.
In only 1000 years, temps go to 1500 degrees and atmospheric pressure to 273 Bar,

It's all so obvious -- the solution is ultra-white geodesic domes and biochar, but you can see how difficult it is to bring public opinion up to speed.

If global warming was really a thing and really going to kill us all then nuclear power would have already obsoleted coal, natural gas, wind and solar. There wouldn't be decades to waste painting out selves into a corner with resource wasting wind and solar just to find out they can't work with some real power plants.

That just causes the NIMBYS to go apoplectic. Those periodic massive leaks of possible cancer inducing radioactive materials is unfortunate, extremely newsworthy, and not exactly helpful to the cause.

The Atomic Age was birthed in conflict. At the time the 'smart money' was on Uranium, not Thorium, as the path forward.

Thorium blends have been used a least twice in US light water reactors and it worked flawlessly.

Flawless except it couldn't be weaponized.

Gulf Stream getting constipated, needs a renewable laxative
The other night, PBS reported that, the scientists had reported that, the Gulf Stream, in the Atlantic Ocean, which historically has brought equatorial heat northwards, has already 'slowed' by 30%.
They also reported that Exxon-Mobil is spending $100,000,000 in new propaganda media campaigns to try and convince the general global population that transitioning off fossil-fuels is impossible.
The Chevy BOLT that I drove on solar electricity over the Thanksgiving holiday failed to get the memo though.

Isn't it good for less heat to be transported towards the poles? I thought the idea was to keep the cold places cold so methane and ice don't vaporize/melt.
I disbelieve the $100M campaign... people don't have to be coerced into using fossil fuels, just like nobody has to be coerced to eat ice cream.

The weird thing about weaponizing thorium is every nation with a nuclear weapons program has to know about it. There's no way they don't know about. But only one nation has used it enough to make weapons.
Everyone else is copying the US nuclear weapons program where you enrich a little uranium and breed an obscene amount of plutonium and make all the weapons you could ever use. Or the USSR nuclear weapons program where you use brute force and get a lot of your weapons by digging up the land and enriching uranium.
In the US we already have enough nuclear weapons to end the world afew times over so having a little more U233 isn't going to make us any more dangerous.
