They were almost all SUVS because mere car owners are not rugged, adventurous, and self-sufficient enough to be out there in the wild waiting in gas lines for gas.

I'm a software dev so naturally I do systems admin too

Yesterday I sent an email out - "You computer may show a little red shield in the bottom, right corner of the screen warning you about security problems - please ignore it as we are upgrading our anti-virus programs. The shield should disappear after a few moments.

I am imposing a charge of £5 for everyone who asks me about this and has been sent this email."

Well, yesterday I would have made about £75 out of this charge.

It always amazes me why politicians would bring this out.
After all, a majority of them voted to allow this kind of tax evasion schemes, and every country has some sort of it .

I don't feel it's immoral for a company to do this.
Most of us would do the same on our level, given half a chance.
A company is not a charity operation.
It's there to make a profit for its owners - much like we go to work for our own benefit.
If they can legally make more profit, why wouldn't they do it ?

What's immoral, is that these tax-evasion schemes exist , i.e. that they were voted into existence.

I refer to them as sufferds - the "suff"-part sounds like SUV-as-a-word.

A sufferd is a dork in Dutch

Not to mention that they spent hours, sometimes the entire night, idling the SUVS so the hardy folk inside could stay warm.

Absolutely. A long term annoyance is that this and the fact that the UK tax and benefit systems are broken and have been for quite a while. You would think this is a priority. Not for our "leaders" apparently. And they wonder why we don't bother to vote any more.

Oh boy. I just saw this thread a few days ago. Do you know what my greatest annoyance is? Well, it is my daily annoyance, too.

Me.

I know that I had better things to do than read this thread, but last night, while I was chatting with a girl on Facebook (that I am supposed to meet today--at the gym), I periodically tried to remember what I was doing, remembered this thread, then wondered what I was supposed to be doing. I eventually accomplished something, but I talked to the girl until 02--she works the graveyard shift.

How is this for fun? A few weeks ago I ventured out to a singles' dinner. A tall and beautiful young lady got in line behind me and we started talking. It turned out that she was a Marine, I am a Soldier. Both of us are students. We had similar political views, etc. At the end of dinner I asked if I could have her phone number and she said "Yes, wait, Facebook is better."

No. Facebook is never better. I sent her a two-line message and have not heard back. Her current profile picture is her very convincing Lara Croft costume.

Send her another one man, don't give up. It sounds like you two had a connection, go for it. I messaged my current girlfriend on Facebook after not talking to her for the 10 years since high school, and told her that I had strong feelings for her back then.

I'm pretty sure I've found my future wife.
