Problem is my engine can't do MDS plus the whole concept just wears out the engine faster, shut down cylinders experience a high amount of blow-by when reactivated due to the rings cooling down.

The very fact that the second engine was in the vehicle along with the original would ruin your drag race numbers.

Can we call it quits on this pipe dream yet? It's never practical to add an extra power plant to a vehicle unless it's individual electric motors mounted on currently non-powered wheels. The idea of removing the second drivetrain for track days is even more crazy considering the work involved. You can have your cake and eat it too when you have a turbo Honda if you can keep your right foot under control and keep out of boost. But a V8 in a truck that weighs this much it's just not possible especially when you are burning extra gas because of the added engine load of the blower...

Leave the race car alone and get a more wallet friendly means of daily transportation. Considering your comment about blowing up the transfer case if you launch in 4wd from your other thread, I'd say you need to start saving pennies for upgraded transmission and transfer case since neither are expected to last very long behind the new engine and you'll still need to get to work work when trans goes boom.

I like dreaming too, but eventually I move my energy to more practical musings.

Those 95-99 Maximas had an appetite for cooking the individual ignition coils. Had to replace them on my 99 to the tune of several hundred bucks.

That's what I'm thinking, I joined a maxima forum and apparently these little V6s can put out quite allot of power for shockingly good mpg and emissions. Talking 200 to the ground with not much effort on my part other than some exhaust redesign, intake porting, and rev limit modification. Basically all free with the stuff I have access to.

I suspect dirtydave was referring to external aerodynamics, not in the plumbing. You know—airdam, boattail, bellypan, diffuser and wheel spats.

Are you going to use anti-reversionary headers?

What is the point of having a 650hp truck??? Do you tow your house with it on a daily basis?

For going fast. He may tow with but for the most part it's probably just used for street/strip racing and cruising or scaring old ladies and pickng up younger ones. I love having my street car but don't try to get good MPG out of it; that's what the DD is for.
