New member - first post.
I just read this whole thread....took 2 days though :-D
I just got an 01 Echo with 197K miles. I think it was used for long drives b/c it does not have the wear of getting in and out as much.
I've already done minor mods: Delete rear seats and brackets, delete rear seat belts and brackets, delete rear door panels, delete all interior trim from lower areas, delete spare and jack, delete trunk plastic parts, delete floor mats, delete passenger wiper, delete wheel covers and add warm air intake tube and 44 psi new tires
I've gotten over 45MPG last few refills and that's pretty good since I live at 5500+ ft in the hills and drive to work in a valley - 78.6 miles each way.
Looking frwd to doing more of the mods listed on here.........

The Echo-Troll is now parted out and most of the pieces are in the process of being swapped to my Toyota Echo for Drag racing and also to be my winter beater.
Maybe this car is dead but the parts will be re-used and continue to perform like they did in the past.
So this is pretty much the end of this thread. The Echo-Troll was a legend and will never be forgotten!

Thanks for the memories. I hope that you'll be moving on to a pure electric vehicle as your next adventure. You might remember that I brought my Honda Fit EV to the 2014 SMCC Economy Run in Charlemagne Q.C. I think it was you that I let test drive it after the event.
I'm driving a Chevy Bolt EV now, with three times the autonomy.

Hi I just wanted to update you gang. I currently own a 2015 chevrolet spark ev. I enjoy it very much. I have no mod on it except Honda insight mags
I also owned a zero fxs 2018 7.2kwh from 2018 to 2020
And I enjoyed so much that I sold it because I was dangerous with it

Congratulations Francis!
I'm so happy that your first all electric experience was in my Honda Fit EV. I know what you mean, when I went full electric, I stopped eco-modding as it isn't as important. You can simply drive more efficiently if you need to.
Cheers!
Mike
P.S. I currently drive a Bolt EV and a 2007 ZENN micro-EV.

Congrats, Francis!
I am envious of the selection of used EV's I see in Quebec. If I'm not mistaken, the provincial gov't offered rebates even on used ones, so lots were imported.
Every once in a while I do a search of what's available around Montreal (just ~2 hrs away from me). Lots of selection.
Sadly, an EV that fits my budget doesn't fit my range needs. A Volt may one day fall in that category though. Or maybe a BMW i3 with the RX.

OK, we need to hear about your ZENN. That's an oddball! I haven't though about those for years and years. My understanding is they were NEV's, thus limited to 25 mph? I assume you picked it up for peanuts?!
And they were assembled in Quebec, if I'm not mistaken.

Hi Darin,
Yes, I found an original owner in WI that just wanted it to go to a good home. He offered the extremely well taken care of ZENN for free. It was $800 to have it trucked to NY. I put $1,100 worth of new AGM group 35 deep cycle marine batteries in it and it drives like new. It's been reprogrammed for 35 mph. In the non winter months I drive it to work, a 20 mile round trip.
