Sticking my hand up to help with clean up effort (need admin on wiki tho!).

If it was wanted, I would go so far as connecting the wiki logon to the forum logon- thus removing the spam issue to a large extent (see the note on the now restored main page - the accounts are deleted unless a PM received - better idea, only EM forum registered users post on the wiki site !)

I've reverted the wiki page a few times in the past couple weeks now. It seems like its a pretty much constant problem.

That was my assumption going in. It just makes sense (to me). On the other hand, I would guess there is a fair amount of work involved in that.

I think Ben had looked into a vBulletin/wiki login bridge when he first set up the wiki. Didn't work out at the time. Still waiting to hear back from him...

Happy to look into it if desired ?
Nothing's impossible..

Well, OK, getting 300MPG from a Semi might be a tricky one but you get the idea.

I still am a wiki admin but I got run down because every day there are 10-16 new spam users. I have sent Ben 10+ pm asking to lock the wiki down so only people me and sand the other wiki and in aprove can post stuff. Right now we are always playing catch up. Sadly it has not Been changed.

I think the idea of a wiki is great, we should keep it but lock it down a bit. Aka only yet users post who are approved personally by one or two people. That would take the admin time down from 25 min a day to about 5 min a month.

Whoever had another option I am interested in seeing how the data would be maintained but be less spammed. Feel free to pm me and we can talk

I don't even have admin access myself.

When I hear back from Ben, I will make it a priority to get the wiki locked to new users until we have a plan in place to deal with this.

Apologies, guys!

It will be a Admin nightmare to tie it to the EM accounts.

How so?
Or are you referring to a manual method?

No I am talking about the idea if you have an EM login you will have the Wiki login. One day I found the list of user profiles. After many pages I gave up because of all the Spam user profiles. This is unless the admins done removed all of them.

I like the Idea of having it locked and having the admins put it up for us. But that would mean adding a few admins I think. I don't know. I just feel for the admins I have done it for many other forums and 1) its hard to stay neutral between members. 2) you cant please everyone.
