Nice job. How old or how many miles were on the wires.

Probably about 50K miles or 4 years

I acquired responsibility of the car's maintenance at around 70-80K (4-5 years ago), so the wires/plugs had at least 50K miles on the replacement equipment. When pulling the boots for the gasket replacement, the #1 Cylinder boot broke in half. If I remember right, we didn't plan on keeping the car past 100K, and went cheap on the replacement parts.

Note to anyone performing repairs: plan on keeping your ride much longer than you anticipate (unless you plan to sell right away). It may save you $$$ later. At this point, there are no plans to discontinue use of the 'Teg -- the aim is to keep it on the road as long as feasible, but as long as emissions are minimal. As a result, the replacement parts have been of higher quality.

At this point (at 131K), it operates very well -- to be honest, it runs better than many new rental cars I drive -- no joke. The transition from rental to 'Teg often reminds me of the vehicle's design integrity and quality. I'm lucky to have acquired it.
