Same for me. I've read about people stealing catalytic converters but I don't know anyone that it has actually happened too. (Or even someone that has 2nd or 3rd hand knowledge of it happening)

Portland, OR is the 5th city / state I've lived in the past 20 years. In my adult life I've had something stolen twice - both involving cars.

When I was 18 and living in Michigan someone broke a window in my car and pried out the factory AM / FM radio (not even cassette). A huge amount of damage for a radio that might sell for $5

Last year we had a backpack stolen out of a friend truck while we ate at a restaurant in Portland, OR on the way back from a hiking trip. Someone smashed the window and took the backpack at 2 in the afternoon on a busy street.

Someone broke into my first car and stole the $60 eBay CD player that didn't remember my radio presets once I turned off the car, didn't have a seek function, and the CD player skipped when I hit each slight bump in the road.

I think they stole my speakers, too.

I just laughed and drove the car without a stereo.

I guess that's another benefit of driving a car with the cat right at the exhaust manifold - too hard to just lay down on the ground and saw it off.

And another good reason to lower the ride height!

PowerShi$% automated double clutch version, I'm guessing.

I warned a good friend against getting one, but he didn't listen to me. So far, so good, touch wood. Fortunately he drives very little.

Dad had the double-plus-good version in his SFE. Isn't it rated better?

The last time that I shoveled the driveway I thought about those silly people with airbag suspensions, but imagine if you lowered your vehicle all of the way before a snowstorm. Then you wouldn't shove snow underneath!

What if you always parked your vehicle on the ground and someone drove by looking for cats to steal?

Not that one!

layin' frame The act of hittin the switches and dropping your car/truck to the point where it is low enough to scrape the frame of the vehicle on the asphalt. Switches = bag, hydrolic switches that control a vehicle's height Did you see that truck layin' frame down Sunrise Blvd. last night?
