That's happened to me a bunch of times.

Meanwhile, that $2000, high-kms Mirage is still tempting me. It's been for sale for over a month! But so far away.

$600 2007 Accent 5-speed

"Runs & drives..."

A friend has one of these, and it's been surprisingly reliable. Some usual 10 year old economy car issues, but nothing major.

Quote:
Price is firm, negotiable if picked up

-202,000 Km (126k miles)
- Standard transmission

- New alternator

- Has another set of rims: aluminum

- Sun roof

- Two sets of keys - A/C

EDIT: crap! I just looked up its EPA ratings and the 5MT is only at 32 hwy. How is that possible?? Disqualified!

What kind of MPG does he get? Fuelly seems to indicate around 29 mpg real world for the average owner (auto + manual combined).

Owner is a she, and it's an autotragic, AND she's a leadfoot. So it's probably better we don't know how bad it is.

Rusty 2000 HX with 107,000 (?!) miles in Phoenix for $1,500

Is this Civic a bigger project than mine? The roof looks like my Accord's! https://offerup.com/item/detail/748355902/

Here is another 2000 HX for $1,500, with 145,000 miles on the engine, and a power steering "Delete:" https://offerup.com/item/detail/754772323/

Here is a 1998 HX for $1,500 that looks decent, but has 280,000 miles: https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/c...975254468.html

Here is the same car on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...99815&query=hx

Likely because most vehicles in the price range you're shopping have had hard lives, doubly so imports which otherwise tend to hold their value.

At least none of these have had their coils cut, fart-can mufflers, and other no-name Chinese "upgrades."
