Sometimes I question women's taste in... [spins wheel]

My first car was a 1987 Honda Prelude Si, which I loved, but buying a car with 150,000 miles does not always go well, and unfortunately I made many mistakes. The car slowly fell apart over the next four years.

In fifteen years, I have not taken a car past 222,000 miles, but if I ever find my crankshaft pulley bolt!

I seriously wanted another car like the Prelude, but I felt that I needed to purchase a sedan, like a serious grown-up.

Of course, my Civic is a coupe, although I still do not have a family, but if I ever found a gorgeous girl who wanted to date me!

[I just want a pleasant girl who makes good decisions. Is that too much to ask?!]

Like things in all areas of our life, you have three atributes you want, pick two.

Pleasant and good decisions. Is the third attribute being female?

Tempted by a $1k Echo sedan 5MT

2003 5-speed with 222,000 km / 138k miles.

"Rust holes in the rockers". AC doesn't work. Both are fine with me!

Quote:
2003 Toyota Echo for sale. Decent shape. Selling as Is where is. NOT SAFTIED. AC does not work and rocker panels have holes. No other known issues. Mechanically very sound. Great little car. Very reliable and cheap on gas and insurance. Currently being driven daily. No cruise. Manual trasmission. Power locks. Manual windows. 222000KM. Clutch replaced at 190000km. Starter and charcoal canister replaced within the last 2 years. Only selling because we are upgrading to a newer car. Asking $1000 obo.

This is the first car to tempt me since that $900 Honda Fit, the main difference being this one is slightly outside my "beater car radius", being 50 km away. I'm standing firm and not going to look at it. Other opportunities will come up!

Is this what they call "discipline?"

Definitely don't contact the seller saying anything like "Hey, I am interested in your car, but a little far away. Can we meet in the middle?"

Is it discipline if it's intermittently applied?

222k miles is just broken in for a Honda!

MetroMPG, did you message the seller and ask to meet in the middle to look at the car?

My partner picked out this (in my opinion) rather handsome manual 2007 Honda Fit at the beginning of last year. She's taken it from 195k to around 220k miles since then with only oil changes, runs like a new car and she averages mid 40's mpg in the summer, with some tanks reaching 50.

Given how well it runs, I wouldn't be surprised if there were another 100k of nearly trouble free miles in it.

Granted, it was a single owner car from a woman in her late 30's, who apparently took care of it, and just wanted a new manual Accord.

Edit: how to fix flipped pic? It was oriented correctly on my phone.

There is a green manual Insight for sale in Tucson for $1,200 with a Bumblebee battery.

They bought the battery new, although it does not say how long ago that was.

I am about to drive from one job to the next. I found this thread before one of the [many] Insight threads that I have created. I felt that I had all of the information that I needed the last time, but I hardly remember anything now.

https://tucson.craigslist.org/cto/d/...965992612.html

Could you guys ask the seller questions and report back?
