I looked at the picture of the instrument cluster. Maintenance required is just the oil change indicator, right? The battery is charged to four bars?

The battery is charged to one bar (rightmost gauge).

He didn't say how old the Bumblebee replacement is. They usually don't last all that long compared to the original Honda ones. Unless it's less than a year old AND you plan on keeping the car as a hybrid (vs deleting the hybrid system), the battery shouldn't factor into the price at all. So we're basically looking at a 19 year old, manual Honda with over 300K miles, unless he can provide receipts that the battery was replaced recently, which I doubt is the case considering the price.

2004 Prius $1200

Tempting... this one's pretty close to me:

It has ths same rust spots as my 2004 had (see the hole in the rocker ahead of the rear wheel arch), though this is a few years later, so the oxidization is farther along.

High kms too: 354,000 = 220k miles.

If it still has the original battery, I'd consider it a ticking time bomb!

Yeah - 15 years old, after all.

Ad says "new computer" a few years ago, but nothing about the battery.

Unless you can find a cheap battery. I recently sold one from a 2006 Prius for a disappointing $250.

Which parts? Some Prius parts are worth a lot. Good cars to part out. But nobody will apparently pay much for an old high-mileage battery.

Oh! You sold the battery for $250, or... will you please clarify #697?
