That red one doesn't look too bad from what little the pictures indicate, but it's definitely overpriced for the mileage.

Saw someone listing an '02 HX in California; didn't the CA HXes not have lean burn?

I cannot find anything confirming or denying, but I would believe it. California likes to prohibit nice things.

Are we required to share running cars?
This 2005 Prius has had a hard life. The dealership replaced the engine in 2009 and the traction battery two years ago, but now it will not start, and there is moisture on the spark plugs!
They say that it needs a new head gasket, so they are selling their Prius with 298,000 miles for $1,500: https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/c...996912676.html

The ad is already deleted.

My mom recently got into an accident with her Prius, but the insurance is repairing it.

1999 Toyota Corolla VE 5 Speed-Trade - $1450 (Prescott Valley)

I guess the last 5-speed Corolla got sold. This one has 215,000 miles and isn't anywhere near anywhere that I want to be, but if I didn't have a reliable car, I think that it might be worth the road trip:

https://prescott.craigslist.org/cto/...991962801.html

Who posts two dozen pictures for a $1,450 car?!

No, actually. He got a reliable car, but it became unreliable as soon as he put his plates on it.

Unlike the original owner, I fix problems that come up.

Unfortunately, my brother periodically causes new ones.

I swapped spark plug wires with my Civic a couple of weeks ago. The misfires almost completely went away, so I threw parts at it, and she has been good since. I drove to Phoenix and back last weekend without a problem.

Then again, that mechanic said that I need a new engine, so what do I know?!

I would also to add to this thread nothing specific, but the fact that Facebook Marketplace is pretty much the gold standard to buy efficient cheap beaters now. There is like an order of magnitude more listings than CL now.
