I messaged them. I always wanted a chevette. I also wanted an electric car. Maybe I can work something out.

Any word?

The components are likely old school, like an SCR controller... or a multi-contactor controller? That'd be cool.

Can you find another broken-down Chevette and maybe an old electric forklift?

It's still posted. Guy said he had a few coming today (7/23) to look at it. I am going to try to swipe it tomorrow or sometime this weekend if no one takes it today.

Cool! Good luck, man. Even as just a shell with an unusual dashboard and paintjob, it is worth it.

After four questionable car ads in a row, this Ram may be legitimate:

This is definitely the wrong thread, but we don't have a dedicated WatchXistStruggle one!

Nonrunning 1997 Civic. At least we see far more of it than the silver one, but I still do not think that a broken car that old is worth more than $500. He is asking $1,100!

OfferUp also says that it is 97 miles away!

Some people don't want to turn around and accept an offer they denied.

Story:
I was looking at a kawasaki kz305 once. Guy listed it at 900, NADA said 600. I wanted this model so I offered 650 hoping the guy would come back with 700 or 750. Instead he CAPS LOCKED messaged me back about how he could trade it for something worth way more than that. Weeks passed and he slowly dropped the price down to 700. It just went back up for sale by someone else for 850 with new tires and all the small problems fixed.

Going to look at the car tomorrow morning. As long as the body isn't all rusty I will probably buy it.

You're actually suggesting that there are people in this country with the capacity to feel shame? I'm interested.

I read that people leave no-haggle dealerships insisting they could get a better deal, but they pay more elsewhere instead of coming back and proving they were wrong.

I guess its one thing for him to have said something like

Here are the pics from the ad for those that weren't able to see them. He said he had some of the old batteries. I was kinda hoping to be able to just get enough juice that I could get the car to move on its own power. Just because that would be awesome. Too bad though. Also it's set up for a tow bar so I won't have to pull the dolly (or trailer) out to him.
