Ben, so awesome. Spreading the EV bug around the internet even more.
As soon as I'm finished converting the MX-3, I definitely have to do a bike.

Congrats Ben! I was really hoping you'd win the Grand Prize so we could talk Shopbot projects. My composites business has one that we use for making plugs and molds, and they are amazing machines.
Well done, sir!

Its a Mig Welder, and it's blue in the photo:
ShopBot Challenge PRIZES
I'm assuming it's an entry-level Miller brand. We'll see what it is when I get it.

awesome!
i was thinking about this thread this week some -- why not have en electric conversion on a dirt bike, or off-road vehicle like a side-by-side atv... that would be really cool too!
what about a lawn mower?
the possibilities are endless!
(if you have lots of time and money lol)

Yes, Yes, Yes! You are right on every count.
There are a few commercially-made EV dirt bikes (but $$$). I took my cycle out on a motocross dirt track once. IT WAS AWESOME!. TOTALLY the wrong style of motorcycle for it, but it was so much fun. (I got air on the ramps!)
Riding lawn mowers are easy to convert to electric - check out Doax's "Eco-Rider".
