It's the old PPM... Per Mile. Who cares about PPM on a test bench?

Where/what States don't classify a trike as a motorcycle?

Did I miss something?

Elio should partner with Scuderi Group; they're both good at not delivering.

I'm going to run out and invest in the Moller SkyCar. I just KNOW it will be perfected and commercially viable soon- Moller says so!

With the introduction of the new Polaris Slingshot, both Texas and Connecticut have refused to allow them be licensed as a motorcycle. I'm guessing that will apply to most other 3-wheel vehicles also.

Connecticut AND Texas agree on something? That's the part that blows my mind.

Here in over regulated New York an Elio tricycle is a Class A motorcycle/scooter and yes, helmets are required as is a separate motorcycle license. If the things were ever to meet FMVSS for passive restraints and rollover protection then a helmet should not be needed. As for ranting about safety standards for cars, I agree with the SAE. I want to live long pass the age of driving. Those who are driving impaired or distracted put us at risk. Save the extra speed for the race course. If you want a $6800, high mpg vehicle build a Vetter style streamliner, lap belt optional.

I was not aware of the Slingshot's classification difficulties. It was my understanding that other tadpole trikes (ex. Morgan, T-Rex) with "automotive" seating and steering wheels were "motorcycles" in all 50 States.

Just heard back from Elio. Texas has given approval. They are working on changing the CT law. If it were up to the tree huggers there will be no issue. But the insurance lobby has CT by the short hairs and motorcycle premiums are a fraction of car premiums. Interesting fight.
