And of course nobody mentions the fact that March and the first half of April were abnormally warm (at least hereabouts) :-(
The first couple of years after I bought this place (around 2000), the local kids would come around asking if they could get some of my daffodils, tulips, and apple blossoms for Mother's Day bouquets. Now all those are finished blooming, and irises are starting.

Yes, another month of record warm temps. Again. But as Drew Carey once said, "screw the grandkids, I'm cold now."

If it was the warmest March and April on record I don't hear anyone complaining about it.

Metrompg will be needing them as snow still forcast for next 3-4 days. Not lying now but 30+mph winds make interesting driving while snowing. Throw in start of tourist season with hired rv's, fornigen drivers and lambing season in full swing (sheep and lambs in road). Could be coldest april on record :-(. Roll on summer.

You're bothered by light breezes? Here's what we get around here during a good winter storm: Trucks Toppled by Wind in Washoe Valley In the mountains, it's not unusual for winds to hit 100 mph.

Highest wind speed was 130mph 2 years ago. 100mph+ is a normal winter storm speed. 30mph relates when driving in a heavy snow shower number of drivers who struggle with 30mph winds. As sheep are white here they blend in with the snow wouldnt like to hit one. Hired rv's drive down centre of road. Now to start to see the problems.

It's only gusting to 52 right now on Mt Washington. Not Fit weather, that's for sure.

Yeah, pretty total lack of sheep hereabouts (of any color). Got plenty of deer & some wild horses that like to stand in the roads, but they're seldom white. Do have the RVs, alas :-(

I don't know how you snowbelt people manage with the snow. I really, literally, don't.
