We dont get a lot of snow at this time of year. In winter not spring everyone is geared up for it. Now try to find winter tyres -30c screen wash deicer etc etc is nearly impossiable. Me i stock up every winter and have a cupboard full. Drivern all winter on summer tyres now due to be replaced can you find all weather or winter tyres not a chance. Hens teeth would be easier to find. Tourists that visit us have summer and heat locked into brain and drive accordingly ignoring snow ice and poor visiability in unfamiliar vehicles. So dangerous and annoying.

Well, it beats the heck out of heat :-) Oh, and tornados. I've been in Texas twice in the last couple of decades, both times had tornado warnings up. Quite interesting to sit in an airliner, stuck in a long line of others waiting to take off, when the pilot tells you there will be a couple hours delay because of tornados in the area.
Oh, and you can ski on snow.

Yeah the heat was hard to get used to here. I'm from California originally. Snow and skiing is there at will, without having to shovel anything ![Smile](/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I love visiting the snow and then going back home when I am finished. I still think we could fabricate a partial sun shade over Phoenix to keep our summers civilized, slashing AC usage.

I moved up to Vermont last year from Florida. To be honest, the winters here are easier to deal with than the summers in northern Florida.

I just don't wanna shovel. I don't really know how to drive in the snow. Road salt should be banned. And on top of that, Reynaud's makes cold climates very very hard for me.

I believe snow is better for the paint, but salt is probably worse than sand.
