Fake hypermilers...
I have noticed some members have much different epa ratings in their garages and now have signatures that honor them as a hypermiler. I am an honest 12% over my epa ratings, and I notice people with the same make and model with the same mileage have a 30% over epa rating.
When I get 30% over my epa ill then go back to the old epa ratings and destroy you. That is all.

I really doubt anyone is lying about something so frivolous...I mean, I don't even look at the numbers, and won't even know what mine are until I post this and check,

Heh. It was more of a joke than actual anger towards anyone. If I had another job and was able to commute highway only that would raise my personal levels a great deal. (A vegas trip would help a lot as well, but no a/c in this bucket!) I just would like to compare others sometimes considering my car was bought used from a wrecker and when I see huge % of the same car i get dissapointed when i see he's 35-40mpg just like I am.

Ah! Okay, I'm being a little daft since I just woke up.
One day, however, I think EM will have a database set up for all the New EPA ratings that autofills when you put cars in the garage. Not cuz we don't trust people, but cuz it'll make life easier and more uniform.

Until then though, we recently added a reminder to the form that people should use the new EPA ratings, and provided a link to them, to try to head off this issue.

I just put my combined down another mpg from 34 to 33. I didn't know there was a site that shows a combined mileage, i thought it was just something you figure out on paper, which was a 34 for me. ASSuming I drive 55% city and 45% highway i should arrive at a certain number. Well i know where and how i drive and i would say that is wrong as well. I deliver pizzas in this car, we are talking about 75% city. Knowing I never stay at 45-55 mph for any long stretch of time kills my mileage but here I am flirting with 40mpg so its a good ego boost to know if i did take a trip and draft a semi it would be way up there. My other car cant get to epa ratings old OR new unless I turn off the engine everywhere i can. I think the epa should be dropped another 5mpg for the neon.
