I'm not building the Firebrid to please anyone else. I am building it to please me. This is the most enjoyable project I have ever done.

Back into the corner of the garage again for the winter. The cold snap this weekend is brutal. Working in the garage in my winter coat and gloves. My wife will have her parking space in the garage back before American Thanksgiving weekend.

I'm not doing any more changes to THIS house. I plan to retire in 22 months and move to a new house in a different state. THAT garage will be heated and air conditioned, and be almost twice as big as the one I have now.

But I guess you won't wait for those 22 months before you finish this project. BTW a few weeks ago while I was taking my dog for a walk in a nearby park I saw a current-generation Prius with a tow hitch, and now it gets me thinking: would you eventually try some towing with this car? Do you have any clue about U-Haul's policy in regard to renting trailers to be towed with modded vehicles?

There is already a Class 3 hitch mounted to the chassis (by me) to take the Thule 4-bike carrier I used to use on the old Cadillac that I drove before my Prius days. I don't anticipate pulling anything heavier than that. Toyota says don't tow with a Prius, period. (Yeah, right.)
