Talking First 90+ mpg fill HOTDOG

Been close several times with mid to high 80's, but, I just knew for the last couple of days that I was going to have a 90+ mpg fill on this one. I have been driving rather carefully for the last day or so just to make sure that I wouldn't spoil it. Ended up with 93.5 mpg for the fill

I still have not done any mods to the car so no belly pan on it yet. The only mods that have done is the loose nut behind the wheel.

My daughter is starting catch the bug, her car is rated at 18 mpg and her last fill was 27 mpg out of a caddy. I keep encouraging her to get even better and had her read the tips here just so she can do better

I was just thinking, If you take a shotglass and fill it to the top with gas, I will be able to go more than a mile on it.

Very impressive numbers! I don't have the patience or the correct routes for extracting similar mpg figures.

Congrats.

The gen 1 Insight proves once again it's the ultimate MPG platform (in North America anyway). Envious!

What were your major techniques? Pulse & glide, or lean burn cruise?

Just lean burn cruising running about 45-50. Didn't have any interstates that I had to run, all back roads.

Lucky you.

45-50 mph driving with load pretty much describes the majority of my driving.

Insight envy!

I'm curious... were you alluding to the Audi A2 or VW Polo 3L there?
