Yes, but they own Lincoln and will surely still sell sedans under that brand--maybe coupes too.

I stand corrected -- mostly. Things do move fast in global corporate activity. Wikipedia (always an impeccable source) says Ford retains an 11% interest in Mazda.
I still have confidence that Ford will be able to adjust to a quick shift in market demand to fuel efficient, affordable vehicles, though americanizing European Fords can be problematic.
I do like what Ford has put out in the past 5 years or so. I almost bought a used Fusion hybrid (old joke, "I thought the Fusion had 5 blades?"), but I have been driving a Chrysler T&C for so long, I don't think my back could adjust to getting in a low-slung car. They are comfortable, once you settle in, but like a cushy chair or sofa, I dread getting out of it.

As of 2015, Ford has zero interest in Mazda.

I'm sure Ford may retain the ability to adjust the demand and eventually resume selling some more conventional cars instead of retaining this foolish approach. Or maybe just quit the marketing stunt and admit their crossovers are nothing but glorified minivans. Well, even though the American minivans are often not nearly as efficient as some European and Japanese counterparts, most soccer-moms seem to look at the term "minivan" as an assumption that it would always mean some extra MPG compared to an SUV even when both bodystyles actually share the same underpinnings...

Best comment on this subject I've read today:
"Funny that they're discontinuing all the fuel efficient models just as the many-years-long slump in oil prices is ending. I guess they can only think about what they should have done in the past, not plan for the future."
