Thought it might be fun to take a look at current temps (as of 3pm EST on Saturday...according to weather.com) for the 16 guys in the tourney...just to stir the pot a little. Pretty even temps except for two matchups (can Tango and RH77 beat the temps and pull the upset)?

Socket 34 degrees vs. Tas 21 degrees (Canada is cold bro!)
Mullet 31 degrees vs. Bhazard 30 degrees (in the battle for Ohio)
CFG 61 degrees vs. Tango 31 degrees (warm Cali air may be a factor)
1337 34 degrees vs. RobbieW 36 degrees (seems fair)
PT 52 degrees vs. RH77 36 degrees (Georgia is warm this time of year!)
Big Dave 33 degrees vs. Neil 27 degrees (is Big Dave hauling something heavy today?)
Sean T. 32 degrees vs. Binger 39 degrees (Taurus in cold weather...ouch)
Trooper 23 degrees vs. Taco 28 degrees (only matchup in sub 30 temps)

Nice work taco...gotta do what you gotta do. Should be a close one vs. Trooper's Beetle. You're both battling some of the coldest temps in the tournament!

I have to say it did not feel like 32 at all. There is barely any signs of snow left and I spent the entire day outside. It isn't supposed to snow again until Monday...

Sadly, I don't need to do any driving this weekend, so the warmer weather doesn't effect my FE at all. But I did break out my secret weapon.... look in my signature

Yesterday I did a 50 mile trip. It was about 28 degrees and snowing part of the way. Averaged 48mpg for that trip--brought tank average up to 39.5mpg so far. 3/4 of a tank to go. Now I'm trying to improvise a quick grill block.

Robbie -

Still alot of miles to be driven with 3/4 of a tank to go...good luck!

The Benz is supposed to be taking a 2000 mile trip this weekend. Might be tough to overcome all those highway miles. He does live in cold temps also though...stand by to stand by. He should be posting a tank on Monday.

bHazard, that Ford is going to get a whoopin! I mentioned the block heater, but had an issue with an air pocket. Now that is figured out, this car is warm on a cold morning, and when I get in it the temp gauge already reads 1/4 way up now. I am still on the same tank and have had to deal with drifting snow and poor roads which equals slower driving speeds, but unsure how it will pan out.

May the best man win

Taco posted his first round tank today for the Yoder...27.05 mpg fighting freezing temps and snow in west virginia. Also should be noted it was his best tank in past 7 fill ups (maybe the extra motivation helped). Great job bro!

We will see what Super Trooper posts in this closely contested matchup.

Updated tourney bracket attached.
