Actually,I prefer the real thing over silicone even if it means less extreme topography.

she's finally home
I got the truck on New Year's Eve,282 days after she broke down.Which will be of help,as I need to tear into the CRX for some repairs and maintenance.
I retrieved the hood blister on the way back,at my friends, where it quit running, and got it back on.
I'll need to restore the belly, after having removed it for new exhaust and state inspection.
I'd suffered a fall about 6-weeks ago and was on crutches for three weeks.I'll be 100% in a week, and will get back to work.
I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Glad to hear everything is working out for you old friend. Give your recovery some extra time, we don't heal as fast as we did when we were younger. Heck, my knee took a month to recover from a round of golf.
regards

I hope you get back to normal strength soon and can make progress with the truck! Best wishes,
james

Thanks to all for kind words
Thanks everyone for the kind words.2013 will go into the record books as one of the oddest for me.
I've got some letters to write and phone calls to make,to help me to decide the next step for the T-100 other than completing fabrication on works in progress.
She's about to turn over 360,000 miles (to the Moon and half way back)and she's certainly authorized to wear out bits and pieces, but she remains strong and willing,so we'll keep pushing.
I'd like to break the 40-mpg HWY barrier using only streamlining. And I'm still curious about the top speed.
Getting back to work will allow some budget for boy science.

Wind tunnel time requested
I just emailed the Darko Technologies Wind Tunnel about reserving a time slot for testing.
The 2014 USFRA World of Speed is Sept. 6th-9th at Bonneville.I'd like to attend, as well as some of the IHPV speed competition at Battle Mountain,NV before going on to Carson city for a family visit.
Ogden is right on the way,so it makes better sense than the A2 tunnel in North Carolina.
I'll wait to hear back.
The truck is aging (as well as me) and getting a top speed isn't working out.
The curved walls and roof of the Darko Tunnel address how velocities/pressures can be impacted by a thickening boundary layer growing along the test section surfaces.
Anyway,if it works out,I'll finally have a Cd and we'll videotape the session with smoke for You-Tube.
The 18" Stinger is progressing well and I'll have a full 4-ft of boat tail at the time of testing, bringing the apparent frontal area in at less than 6.5-sq-ft,compared to almost 29 sq-ft 'naked.'
I'll check back when I know more.
