alternate test area possibility

The August 2012 CAR and DRIVER had an article about the 'Mojave Mile' at the Mojave Airport north of Edward's AFB,where Scaled Composites and others do their thing.
Each June, they offer a 1.5-mile course 'Mojave Magnum' on the 12,500-ft runway.
The entry fee is reasonable,as well as safety gear requirements.
On 'pavement' and with an extra 1/2-mile compared to Bonneville,I might have a shot at terminal velocity.Local station pressure would be available,as it IS and airport/spaceport.
I'd just take Hwy 385 south from my brother's in Carson City on a return loop via Salt Flats and Battle Mountain.
I haven't shut out the A2 and Darko tunnels, but I need to get to a comfort level regarding both of their test sections limited area.

With a bit of luck, you could get a rolling start on the taxiways, then turn onto the runway at a good entry speed.

That would help, but the event is rigidly structured as at Bonneville, with standing start only.
My single brain synapse fired last night and it struck me that CAR and DRIVER might help me with fee testing, as back in '91,running on the Chrysler Proving Grounds oval. The CRX reached top speed there,I'm sure it would be the same for the truck.
Also, long ago,the director out at Bridgestone/Firestone Proving Grounds,Ft.Stockton,Texas told me that the facility could be rented, along with a service bay at reasonable cost. They even offered to 'lock-down' the place to keep prying eyes away if desired.
It's closer to home, and I could tow the trailer, carrying the boat tail inside the truck, and test both trailer and fully boat-tailed truck back-to-back within a brief period.
It can be very windy out there, but at the speeds I might achieve it might not be a safety issue.

T-100 running after 8-months slumber

I drove up to the truck last Thursday to get my breaker bars out of the truck for use on CRX parts car.
Marvin said he's got it running with the new fuel pump ($ 253 Delphi/WABCO unit from Car Quest).
He wanted to put some fuel in it and spend some time with it before signing off on it.Should have it in a few days.

That's progress. (we take what we can get) After the first of the year my priority shifts to rescuing the panel van from it's slumbers and getting a coat of paint on it. Plastidip, actually. I want to do that PolyMetal bellypan.

Any luck finding sponsors?

That's cool. I remember that truck from Bonneville. Made my best Bonneville photo looking at that truck, but I thought it was an F150... is this the right truck? : http://ecomodder.com/forum/member-ca...ring-world.jpg

Nice the hear it's back on the road!

I've heard that cosmetic surgeons refer to the newly-created cleavage from breast augmentation as 'plasti-dip.'
Sponsors? Oh yeah, they flock to me like tourists to a leper colony!
