This is what I use.

EcoPower Oil

Not biodegradable, but at least it is not supporting OPEC / big oil as much.

Oh ... and no animals are harmed.

You use recylced part-syn for nearly $50 a case?

I can't really say much about it being part-syn, because it's 85% recycled... but for the price, you could get "new" oil.. recycling things is supposed to be a way to reduce costs, not make even more money.

It is when their profit margin is higher and it's coming form your pocket, at least for me.

You're not being any more environmentally responsible than you would be just using plain 'ole synthetic oil and recycling it when you're done, so that doesn't cut it. Recycled motor oil has been available in off-brands for years, so it's not like it's even a new process that costs alot now, but will eventually level out. They're just taking your money, and using "recycled" and "green" to do it.

Hmmm, 5W30*12 quarts for $45.48 => $3.79 per quart. It looks like shipping is free and no mention of tax (for me). I buy a bottle here and there to keep my oil-burnin' Saturn happy. Maybe I'll get a case. I do like the idea of recycled oil. If I'm breathing Abraham Lincoln molecules, might as well get some of my oil molecules back. I'm hoping for 80K miles vintage. That was a good year,

Not that I am a gear head, but the public research on the company is wide and well-documented. It exceeds all industry (ASTM) standards; it relies on a percentage of the excess of animal fats already present in the market; and yes, you can just pour it into the ground -- it is completely green. It evaporates after use. The way it is possible is through nanotechnology, whereby changing the molecular composition of the fats secures their biodagradability. For real stuff, gents.

Oh and yeah, the stuff is completely MADE in the USA.

Still, that doesn't account for the huge price difference between it and other oils.

Why's it necessary to change the fat oils' molecular composition? I thought fat was biodegradable as it was.... naturally occuring.. ya know.

6.99 a bottle is no huge price difference.

Sorry, the fats themselves are fine -- but even a farm isn't allowed to just dump their leftover fats in the backyard -- they still have to be put away in hazardous material bins or bags and such -- I guess in case the animal was sick or whatever. Whatever retooling the nanotechnology does, makes the entire product fully green for the environment.
