It's not a huge price difference compared to other synthetic oils, no, but when they're talking about all their oil being recycled and such (that's this company, right?) it stands to reason that since they're not working with base oils that have to be refined, etc... that the oil product itself should be cheaper. Not to mention that since they're using animal fats to create their product, chances are, they're getting their base much cheaper than even some of the dino-oils on the market.

Just doesn't seem like the "right price" for me.

It is actually cheaper than the leading and other popular synthetic oils. Their oil cost comes from buying the fats and processing them with nanotechnology, which accounts for their own -- otherwise cheaper -- refining costs.

And since the consumer doesn't need to recycle the g-oil after using it (did I mention it is smoke-less, too? and there are other g-oils for all sorts of engines including farm and marine?), that passes more time saving onto the customer. Their slogan is accurate: Save the Earth, SACRIFICE NOTHING.

Well that's just smart business. They make a product that is on par performance wise with the other synthetic oils and it's priced as such. For them, it's cheaper to produce. That's good profit for the company. An equivalent and equitable price for the consumer and the fact that it's better for the environment than traditional motor oil, I think, makes it superior.

It's also cheaper than Amsoil and it's API certified, something Amsoil isn't.
(I use Amsoil because I consider it to also be an alternative to what you find on big store shelves.)

Let's be honest, all of these companies that are making ecologically minded prodcuts are doing a good service but at the end of the day their goal is to make money. As long as they keep improving on products, from an envrionmental standpoint, I don't have a problem with companies doing this.

It's cheaper monetarily than some other oils, yes. I agree with that. That doesn't mean that they're not raping you in profits. Until someone can show me a valid reason that recycled animal fat should cost me $7 a qt, I'll stick with "normal" synthetics.

PS - I don't pay $7 a quart (plus shipping) for my Mobil1...

ha! Christ, you think Mobil isn't raping you when it comes to their profits? good one!

face it: you're sticking with "normal" synthetics because you don't want to help the environment.

That's a fairly strong accusation to be making, friend.

I don't believe I'm going to continue this conversation, because it's going to end in one of us having a very sour feeling about this website, and it ain't gonna be me.

BTW - If you work for the company, or are affiliated with them, that's cool. Might want to make it known, though. (Although you're making it pretty obvious as it is.)

I never said I didn't think Mobil was pulling ungodly profits, either. I said I don't agree with this company for doing the same thing. Someone's got to change someday, eh? Until then, I'll stick with what I've been using for years.

Sorry that rubs your scalp the wrong way, buddy.

I don't work for them -- but when I found out about them, I sure bought some stock! God bess the United States of America!

You don't rub my scalp the wrong way, buddy. Is your scalp itching though?

Yup, dandruff. Dry weather always does it to me.

Think some animal fat oil will help with that?
