This needs it's own thread with a descriptive subject line, no? So it gets the specific attention it should. Admins?

Thanks for the kind words.

That would be adding an automatic front grill block! I wanted to do it last summer, but no luck. My wife and I spent quite a bit of time on the house, as in sheet metal roof, more attic insulation, drywall garage ceiling, and so on.
And speaking of garage ceilings, now that it sealed up better, the garage temperature stays above 30F even on the coldest days. Note that the temperature sensor is 6 feet above the floor. The home energy audit inspector said it was heat from the garage floor that causes this. And here I thought it the lost heat from the attached house wall.
This summer looks just as busy, with adding nine new windows to the house, putting in an solar powered attic fan, basement windows, and so on.
The CAT CON on the car needs cleaning, or so I suspect the way it is running lately, so that needs to come off. Rusty bolts, anyone?
I really would like to get that radiator block on this year. All the cold temps keep me thinking about it !!
Jim.

Hi,
We had another 3 inches of fluffy snow last night, and I took the highway, which was running about 40 mph to work instead of the back roads.
As soon as I got out of the car and stooped down to look at the underside of the tail, I saw what I was looking for! A nice patch of snow of stuck to the underside, giving a clear indication of air flow and turbulence.
Note: there was a 10/15 mph or so sidewind from left to right, for most of the drive, and that sidewind caused the shifted pattern that you see in the pictures.
I'm a little surprised that there is not more snow sticking to the side of the tail by the side tail lights, since the sidewind was pretty stiff, and could potentially cause turbulence on this side of the tail??
Enjoy, Jim.

You clealy need to do some tire tails for improved areo.
Very illustraive with the snow buildup behind the tires.
Thanks for the pics. Amazing job you did with that tail.

sell the tail
Yes he did. To the fella who provided me my Insight, by way of his son's father in law, my late neighbor Dennis.
The tail paid me a visit a few years ago. You can't really appreciate it until it's right in front of you. Extremely thoughtful design. Way better than anything I've ever done.
80-mpg range. To be color-matched at some point, in the Land of Enchantment.
Way to go Jim!

????
I thought it was sold to my buddy Sam. (Or are there two red tails around?) I've driven that car (although it didn't have the tail then.)

I'm not comfortable discussing anything about the person I know.

Hi Cd,
Yes the tail has been gone for about two years now. I see that the original paint is still on the tail.
I am glad to see that the tail is still being used and useful!
I should mention that the Insight is gone as well. My elderly mom did not fit well in the Insight (and her walker) so I have another vehicle that I use to take her to doctor appointments.
