Who talks about a ripple when people generally drive like they want to simulate a tsunami?

Anecdotes and bias. I'm not buying it.

If you wanted to talk about "kinetic ripple", that's what you should have talked about. Blaming one type of car is silly and distracts from the point you're trying to make.

2014 top 20 traffic tickets. Guess who made the top 20 out of 526 models???
These Cars Get the Most Traffic Tickets - NBC News

Also I have a 2015 report at work where the Prius made the it to 12th place in the top 50 for speeding violations.

I'm not defending the Prius car itself. I'm just seeing in my city the total opposite of what your seeing. Its the people that own and drive their Prius
"like a bat out of hell" that are the problem for being very aggressive in my area.

In my area the vehicle that causes this issue that your describing would be a mid 80's type truck with farm equipment in the back, but I don't blame the truck for this. Its mostly has to do with the elderly person driving the truck.

The kinetic ripple is related to the Prius, since the ripple is caused by it. I have made it clear in this thread that I am quite aware that other vehicles leave a similar wake, and that I am quite aware that it is in fact the driver, not the vehicle. I observe that the Prius is the main vehicle leaving such a wake of waste, it may be a different car in other areas. Here in CA, we have the highest number of registrations for hybrid vehicles, which may have something to do with why I see so many problem Prius drivers. Either way, no matter what kind of vehicle is causing this wake of waste, the phenomenon is something that happens.

Did you happen to google "slow Prius drivers"? It appears that I am far from alone as far as my observations go. How is it that so many people have observed the same thing?

So maybe it's the... drivers? And again, wasters gonna waste. Not slowpoke's fault.

Yea, that was pretty sloppy on my part when you look at my first sentence in that post, considering what I said in the next sentence. Here it is below.

While it may have been sloppy, the next sentence should demonstrate that I was aware that the driver is the culprit

I feel like I have demonstrated that I am aware that it is the driver. There is no stopping the supply of problem drivers, so I agree that wasters gonna waste. As far as slow poke's fault, This is where we disagree. Wasters are going to waste, but slowpoke can compound it.

Why do you suppose there are so many results when you google slow Prius drivers? Could it be that in an eco conscious community like this, that confirmation bias blocks one's desire to look for a plausible path that shows a connection between waste and the Prius?

I would imagine that there is a fixed number of drivers on the road who will do this, and perhaps in your area, there are a disproportionate amount of them in Prii. However, that doesn't hold true in all other areas.

Agreed?

That could well be.

But it's time to invoke Sagan:

You're the one who made an extraordinary claim, and that requires extraordinary evidence, not anecdotes and bias-confirming personal observations.

EDIT: FYI, I'd be perfectly willing to accept that Prius drivers are somehow more disruptive than average... with proper evidence.
