Well the new tires seem to have set me back a lot in mpg as of now. Will need to keep an eye on it but as of now about 10% drop for my daily commute. Will look to keep average over 55 but 55 alone is hard to achieve now. OEM fuel max typical mpg on my commute was 60-63. New tires 53-56. It's the extra tread I'm traveling further per revolution.

Use a good gps and calculate actual distance versus odo showed distance, then calibrate your distances in your FE calculations by the apprpopriate multiplier.

What Size and type did you have and what do you have now.

I previously just upgraded to a larger size by 3.1%.

My Butt-O-Meter feels like the tires roll better now that I have put about 4000 miles on them.

I kept the same size but the tires are a heavier and have a lot of tread compared to what was left on the goodyears. I'll figure it out one of these days lol all I know is my Cruze looks a hell of a lot better than a Prius lol

Heavier tires = more rolling weight, good for long highway trips, bad for stop and go.

Hopefully you can find a happy medium!

Guess if I want the milage back I can always pick up a set of oem good years for around 480$ lol I'm going to just keep tabs on the eco tires that are up and coming. The fact that the eco tires become so much harder and louder over time is unreal. The OEM fuel max we're dry rotted to the point they need to be replaced. If I had kept better tabs on the alignment probably would have gotten about 10k more out of them. The road noise was terrible though. Have seen several others reporting the same things with LRR tires. They harden over time and become unbearable before tread wears out. For someone driving 30-40k a year probably ok. 10-15k a year the tires become aged and not in the good way like whiskey or wine lol. Rubber compound begins to loose it's flexibility it seems. Hopefully they come up with something better to extend the life on them.

What kind of tires did you end up with?

I run the Continental True Contacts myself

I did extensive research on the weight of the tires and the important stuff.

I was able to go up a size, get a better LRR tire, but kept the same rolling weight, but I went up 3/4" in height from 24.2(ish) to 25" in height!

Cooper cs4s. Working on tweaking my driving style. This am trip home from work was 58.8 so refining driving style to match tires. Have been taking the 55 mph 4oute vs backroads to work and have averaged around 52 now that I have a system figured out to warm up and get mpg on my way to 55 mph stretch. That is 16.8 miles I believe and the hypermiling route I call it is 13.1 average speed is around 12 mph slower. If I do it this way every day can manage 55 average.

I didn't look into the Cooper cs4s much due to the fact I bought the set for 50$ lol I would say right around 75% tread. Would put pic up but the site doesn't auto downsize and it's a pain on Android phone to downsize. I will definitely be looking forward to improvements in the LLR tires so hopefully I can pick some of them up next to around. Unless I get another 50$ set lol

Depending on the age of the tire, PUMP THEM UP...lol

I run my tires at 60PSI, I believe they are rated 44PSI, but they are brand new
