meh, first hole, second hole or carried like a bowling ball.

Anyhoo, Id love to have a Synergy drive highlander(SP?) toyota made and get it with a large phev kit. I think an owner who went to an 8 kw kit was netting 40 mpg before the battery needed recharging.

That's insane! Then you plug in at home? How long does it generally take to recharge on your car? What kind of jump ddid you see on the power bill?

Thanks,
Victor

If this kit is like the enginer, then its automatic for the prius/synergy drive system. They have a "ready" signal from the computer and the power relay to the phev kit taps that. So once you install it under the trunk and remove spare tire you just leave the dash switch on. It back feeds the car when its ready and you get a bump in mpg. With a higher state of change you coast further vs dip into regen when you coast so you get use to this and further get more mpg.

Just plug it in at home and the charger does its things. Mines was 4 kilowatt in size, never could tell any difference in power usage. Same with the block heater. It lasted about 4.5 hours of increased mpg and about 4.5 hours charge time.
