I printed out the next little car part last night. They are new shifter shaft bushings for the Metro. The existing ones are horribly worn out causing the occasional mis-shift.
There is a little more info in my build thread here: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...tml#post472236
If other Metro owners are interested, making an extra set is no big deal. Just shoot me a PM.

Here is the latest thing thats on the printer right now. Its for the Metro. I'm guessing most of you can guess what it is.
Its made in multiple pieces do to the limited print size my machine can do. The pieces will be glued / melted together with acetone.

It.s nice to see how you can search for the limint of the printer. I think your only limit now is the printer sice. But realy nice to see what you can do. I would love it. Maybe when the price goes down.

Mirror delete!
Can you modify the printer to make larger objects? That meetup I attended at Local Motors had a guy talking about making his own. It was big!

You got it. I just finished it up. You can see the rest of the pics here:

Mine can't be modified for a larger print area without some substantial modification.

Haha, sure why not?
My current project with the 3d printer is making a fun little birthday present for my sister in law. She thinks 3d printing is really cool and was pretty psyched when I first got the printer. She also really likes the fleur de lis symbol. So, I'm going to 3d print her a translucent orange (favorite color) fleur de lis LED nightlight. Either that, or I'm going to make it so it projects a fleur de lis up on the wall behind the nightlight... I haven't figured out exactly what to do yet. I just started modeling the fleur de lis over the weekend and its not done yet.

That mirror delete doesn't show that it was made in snap-together parts; was it wrapped in vinyl?
I'm not sure where this goes. Is there another thread that could use this link?

The future is so bright we'll have to print our own mirror-shades.
