I was disappointed that those converging skegs were aerodynamically unstable. So I'm back to diverging outer walls on the difusser.
kach22i:
I dug out this model that has this Bugatti Royale two-tone scheme translated to the Beetle. I got that gloss finish in or about 1990. Too bad the cars that sit outside don't fair as well.
I was proud of the scratch-built three-fold sunroof, but it's gone missing. Not so proud of the blurry exposure. The two-tone line was a tracing of the rear quarter window.

If younkeep the surfaces from oxidation, the paint lasts but nobody paste waxes their car anymore. The F250 is just now starting to lose clear coat adhesion on the camper shell after 20 years. Most people don't believe it is an outdoor 2000

That is a clear coat paint job. What do you think of the two-tone? I think it is the best idea I ever stole.

Not sure if this belongs here, or in the unaerodynamic thread....
All the facts I found:
Miata based.
Tulsa cars and coffee.

aerohead would approve the central snorkel nostril and it's size.
Definitely not un-aerodynamic. The half-cylinders are in the windshadow of the cabin.
I'm not sure but the outward canted fins and curved truncation may be unappreciated genius.

* It's beautifully executed ( English wheel and planisher envy! )
* Missed opportunity with the backlight.
* Missed opportunity with plan-taper.
* Thickening fins are adding back cross-sectional area.
* Sectioned boot cylinders leading edges may be drafting the greenhouse, but at their trailing edges, they'd likely be in re-attached flow, also be adding back cross-sectional area.
* It's aft-body is reminiscent of the North American X-15. In subsonic flow, the base pressure drag constituted 80% of overall aerodynamic drag

I think that both ends are done more for looks than anything else. One just works better for the air.

The front belongs in this thread, the middle and rear belong in the Unaerodynamic thread.
