I can see similarity with the Cybertruck and Kanoo's A-pillars. They're limited by the rectangular double- telescopic solar array.

According to Ter Horst, the vehicle could theoretically reach the market in five years, though the team did not produce the prototype with the goal of mass production in mind. Horst said “We have the technology to make these kinds of automobiles but consumers will need to warm up to the idea” of teardrop shaped vehicles.

Once again, I was looking for something else.
www.totalsimulation.co.uk: The first downforce car?
Quote:
Little is known about the car designed in the 1920’s by Rene Prevost, which he briefly described with a diagram and photo in his letter published in a1928 edition of The Automobile Engineer. He did however, mention the possible benefits of increased stability and power by sucking the car to the track. Based on this info, 3D cad was generated by Stuart Brown of 3D Engineers (www.3d-engineers.co.uk) and a CFD model created by TotalSim.
It did generate downforce, although the stagnation under the nose produced a lot of front lift which would have made the handling pretty interesting…

Not sure where to put this so I'll just add it here:
The nautical themed Rolls Royce Hyperion Concept
My VW Beetle barrelback has a running light stanchion.

This looks like an old land speed racecar. My guess is that the front sheet metal and extreme top chop (resulting in a smaller frontal area) improve the aerodynamics (with regard to efficiency). Comments about aerodynamic efficiency (what probably works, and what probably doesn't work) are welcome.

1953-54 Studebaker. The chop and front end are good, but it's not how you make the hole, it's how you close the hole.
Like this.

' land speed racecar'
I believe it to be. And freebeard's sniffing down the right trail.
I believe that the progenitor of what you've posted was featured in before and after photographs of an aero-modded Studebaker, dedicated to salt flats racing, featured in a 1962 HOT ROD Magazine feature article on aerodynamics.
