faster backwards?

I hope some additional images become available.
There may be some criteria the team established which locked in the tripod the way they have it.
Attached flow looks good 'til about the last foot.A little dirty behind the thick axle stub and struts but that's easy to fix.
Wouldn't want to drive it in traffic but they don't need to concern themselves with that.
Fun!

We Love Ford's, Past, Present And Future.: 1984 Ford Aerostar

Quote:
The sleek, aerodynamic Aerostar concept vehicle is a sneak preview of Ford's new mini-van, due out in 1985. The rear-drive van seats seven and has a one-ton payload. Ford predicts EPA mileage of up to 40 mpg, highway. Production Aerostar vans will closely resemble the concept vehicle, but they will differ in details such as grille and headlights.

Chevrolet express: Naca duct on the trunk!

Quote:
More than just another aerodynamic concept vehicle, the Chevrolet Express, initially shown in 1987, was the latest iteration of General Motors' long-running experimentation with the gas turbine.

Powered by a mid-mounted GM AGT-5 turbine, the Express was designed to be capable of running at a constant 150 miles per hour. Not a toy for the hot rodder, it was to be part of a system of federal limited access highways where high-speed travel was the norm.
